A+F Recruitment is delighted to partner with a national not-for-profit organisation who is looking to appoint a Head of Finance to their Senior Leadership Team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the finance function, ensuring strong financial governance, compliance, and strategic oversight across the organisation. This is a pivotal leadership role requiring vision, accountability, and the ability to deliver change through collaboration.

Headquartered in Co. Kildare, this role offers excellent flexibility with hybrid working arrangements, making it accessible to candidates living in Dublin and neighbouring counties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide financial leadership, compliance, and accountability to the CEO and Board.
  • Develop and implement best practice financial policies and systems to support company objectives.
  • Oversee preparation of annual accounts, budgets, management reports, and regulatory returns.
  • Manage the day-to-day finance operations including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting across multiple centre locations
  • Lead, support, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of excellence and integrity.
  • Work closely with external auditors, regulators, funders (e.g. HSE, Charities Regulator, HIQA), and other stakeholders.
  • Drive efficiencies, cost controls, and value-for-money initiatives.
  • Contribute to organisational strategy as part of the Senior Management Team.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • A fully qualified chartered/registered accountant with at least 5 -10 years post-qualification experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in a finance leadership role, ideally within a large, values-driven organisation.
  • Proven track record in financial management, budget oversight, and resource allocation.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit / charity sector would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and negotiation, particularly with statutory funders.
  • Ability to manage and influence stakeholders, contribute to the SLT and attend Board meetings when required
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and embed new systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
