A+F Recruitment is delighted to partner with an organisation in the biopharmaceutical sector to recruit an Internal Audit Lead/ Associate Director. This is an exciting opportunity for a senior audit professional to join a global, innovation-driven organisation committed to improving healthcare outcomes worldwide.

The successful candidate will report to the Internal Audit Director and will take ownership of leading audits across European operations, with global exposure. The role involves a mix of hands-on audit execution, strategic collaboration, and cross-regional coordination.

Please note that whilst this is a “Lead/ Associate Director” level role, you will have no direct reports. You must also have Hands-on experience in conducting the audits yourself as opposed to managing/organising/facilitating them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead, and execute audits across operational and functional areas
  • Conduct risk-based assessments, identify control gaps, and recommend improvements
  • Draft clear, impactful audit reports and present findings to global management
  • Ensure audits adhere to internal standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with global internal audit teams
  • Participate in advisory projects, risk assessments, and process enhancements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar
  • Professional certification (CIA, CPA, CISA, ACCA, or equivalent) strongly preferred
  • 8–10 years of audit experience, ideally a blend of Big 4 and internal audit in a multinational environment
  • Strong understanding of internal controls, audit methodology, and regulatory frameworks
  • Fluent English; additional languages (e.g. German or Chinese) are a plus
  • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally (~10–20%)
