Experience: 1-2 YearsSector: Part-Qualified Accountant

This 4 months’ Assistant Accountant contract role is responsible for performing various accounting duties including but not limited to bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.

Essential Job Functions

  • Posts and processes journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
  • Maintains general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable detail and control accounts; adjusting entries for amortizations prepaids; analyzing and reconciling retainage and accounts payable ledgers;
  • Oversees bank reconciliations.
  • Corrects accounting errors and posts journal entry adjustments.
  • Processes wire transfers
  • Provides back-up to other accounting personnel as required.

Skills, knowledge and attributes  

Bachelor’s degree in accounting plus 1 – 2 years’ experience in accounting plus advanced excel, effective communication skills, able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively as well as performing accurate work to the highest standards of accountancy.
