A+F Recruitment are delighted to partner with a growing Irish Software company who is looking to add a Commercial Finance Manager to their finance team in Dublin 1.

Due to continued growth and expansion, my client has created a new commercially focused role within their Finance department. This position will play a key role in supporting global sales teams, ensuring accurate revenue recognition, and delivering clear and actionable reporting on overall company performance.

Core responsibilities include monitoring actual performance against forecasts, analyzing historical data to identify trends and variances, and providing insights to guide strategic and commercial decisions.

A strong sales-oriented mindset combined with solid accounting knowledge is essential. The individual will work closely with commercial and client-facing teams to ensure they have the financial insights and operational support needed to drive success.

This is a high-impact role offering meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to directly contribute to the company’s performance and growth.

Please not that this position is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with a strong possibility of extension there after.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse historic financial performance to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement; support strategic decision-making with relevant insights.
  • Monitor and track current performance against financial forecasts and budgets, highlighting key deviations and working with stakeholders to understand and address them.
  • Take the lead in maintaining price lists, tracking competitor information, and managing the pricing committee.
  • Provide commercial support for finance input into tender responses; assist with pricing questions/quotations, preparation and review of commercial contract terms, and deal pricing.
  • Review internal accounting reports and ensure proper application of revenue recognition policies.
  • Take an active role in managing key supplier relationships and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the broader team on aspects of the monthly reporting cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Assist in the implementation of a Certinia ERP system (previously FinancialForce, built on the Salesforce platform).
  • Prepare for future ESG reporting requirements by collaborating with cross-functional teams and developing internal processes to collect, validate, and manage ESG-related data.
  • Monitor evolving ESG regulations and frameworks (e.g. CSRD, SEC climate rules) to stay ahead of customer expectations, and support ESG-related disclosures in RFPs, contracts, and due diligence processes.
  • Manage global insurance policies and contractually required renewals.
  • Support ongoing complex corporate planning and tax strategy initiatives.
  • Participating, as required, in Finance process, system and other projects, working closely with the Head of Finance and the Senior Finance Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with 5+ years PQE.
  • Comfortable using an ERP .Exposure to CRM systems to source contract and revenue data.
  • Data visualization and building dashboards experience (Tableau) would be useful but not essential.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Senior position within a global accounting team with significant experience supporting sales teams is essential.
  • An excellent understanding of commercial sales contracts and how they relate to revenue recognition.
  • A good grounding in the overall finance function for a company with global operations, as the role touches on different areas: monthly reporting (FRS102 and IFRS), company secretarial, ESG and tax planning.
  • Software pricing methodologies and how they impact on revenue and financial performance.
  • Familiarity with managing and supporting entities in several geographies is an advantage.
  • Commercially minded and analytically strong, with the ability to interpret complex financial and non-financial data to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Strong communicator and collaborator, able to build effective relationships across departments/external advisors (e.g., sales, legal) and translate financial insights for non-finance audiences.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the flexibility to manage shifting priorities and new responsibilities (e.g., ESG readiness).Technically proficient and systems-savvy, ideally with experience working with or implementing ERP systems (e.g., Certinia) and data reporting tools.
  • Curious and forward-thinking, with a genuine interest in sustainability, digital transformation, and continuous improvement within finance.
  • Solution-focused and pragmatic, with the ability to balance ideal outcomes with operational and commercial realities.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a willingness to take ownership of tasks, suggest improvements, and follow through to implementation. Resourceful and works constructively with a team.
