Experience: 7-9 YearsSector: Industry Accounting

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role is responsible for a number of companies within a prominent Insurance group. Managing a team of 10, you will oversee teams in the areas of Financial Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Risk and Controls oversight.
In this role, you will be responsible for the preparation of, and facilitating the review of, financial and regulatory reporting for companies within the Irish division and the centrally controlled holding companies.

The role:

  • Preparation of EU IFRS statutory financials to meet Irish regulatory requirements
  • Solvency II quarterly and yearly returns to the CBI
  • Consolidated financials for group reporting purposes, monthly, quarterly, and annually within deadline.
  • management of the relationship with external auditors
  • management of the relationship with group finance counterparts.
  • and adoption of new reporting standards including accounting, statutory and regulatory rules/requirements.
  • group wide financial development projects, for example the implementation of the new financial reporting aspects of Solvency 2
  • financial updates and reports to the Board Audit Committees and Executive teams
  • and manage all financial systems adopted for reporting group wide

The ideal candidate:

  • A qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA qualification) with 10+ years PQE.
  • Experience in insurance financial accounting and group reporting would be essential.
  • Proven track record in the identification, assessment and implementation of new financial reporting standards and their adoption.
  • Must be highly self-motivated, assertive and have a proven ability to initiate, develop, implement, and manage project deliverables at a senior level.
  • Ability to achieve results and deliver through collaboration across multi-disciplined teams.
  • Proven technical financial accounting skills with experience in managing the assessment and adoption of new reporting standards in a regulated environment.
  • self-motivated individual, a strong communicator, capable of building & maintaining excellent relationships with senior stakeholders and influencing people around a common set of objectives.
