The role of Finance Manager is to support the Managing Director in managing the delivery of support services to bank’s intra group companies in EMEA. It is also to ensure that group head office policies and procedures applicable to this business are implemented and followed and ensure that there is adequate documentation, procedures, resources and staff training to support the finance function.

The Finance Manager is primarily accountable and responsible for:

  • Contributing to the effective running of the Board of Directors
  • Promoting the highest standards of corporate governance for this business
  • Notifying the Managing Director of any significant event or exceptional matter impacting the business
  • Ensuring that the group does everything that is required by law, regulation and group requirements
  • Achieving budgets by maintaining profitability while controlling costs
  • Helping to maximize the business’ contribution to the bank’s EMEA operation
  • Facilitating management, Committee meetings, etc.
  • Continuous improvement of the Internal Structure of the finance function (Increased efficiency, Improved Control, etc)
  • Maintaining the knowledge of finance staff with identification of appropriate investment in training
  • Managing, developing and controlling all aspects of the finance function
  • Servicing the bank and its internal and external Customers to the highest standards
  • Helping to ensure that sound risk management and internal control systems are maintained
  • Carrying out constant improvements in workflow to reduce risk and improve efficiency

Skills, knowledge and Attributes:

  • Educated to degree standard and holder of a professional Accounting qualification with strong numerical and financial skills and understanding of the banking regulatory environment.
  • Broad operational knowledge and expertise across multiple areas of Banking to enable you to identify and control weaknesses and provide advice on best practice/ process improvements.
  • Technical expertise in Bank products and local regulations. A clear understanding of the risk and internal control environment relevant to the business being audited.`
  • Ability to clearly communicate to Senior Management both verbally and in writing to gain the confidence and trust of Management in their relationship management role.
  • Ability to influence senior management to ensure controls are appropriately considered and recommendations are taken on board.
