Finance Manager – Capital Projects

This is a newly created role within a growing department of a well known Irish brand that plans to spend >€500m over the coming years on strategic capital projects. The successful candidate will require a strong financial background in financial reporting and business partnering coupled with commercial awareness and strategic leadership. The role is ideal for someone seeking to scale the organisation and grow their influence on the overall business. It will suit someone who has a background in transactions services or infrastructure finance coupled with a number of years industry experience who wants to work with a growing brand who are in acquisition mode.
 
The role will report to the Head of FP&A with a dotted line to the Group Head of Developments. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Manage the cashflow forecasting and capital reporting by project against Budget and key milestone dates
  • Develop ‘best in class’ Project Cost reporting and processes
  • Scrutinise and support investment case appraisals – specifically with the remit of the development costs.
  • Project Risk management – develop, guide and maintain project risk registers which cumulate to an overall department Risk Register.
  • Maintain and develop the supplier payment process across multiple ERP systems
  • Support the project cost estimating and budgeting with the Development Team across the different phases (Enabling / Site Works / Shell & Core / Fit out).
  • Manage the full capex costs (Re-development costs – Lifecycle Costs – Brand Costs – Maintenance costs) against long term plans that have been approved by Senior Mgmt.
  • Review and manage major contracts in conjunction with the senior members of the Developments Team.
  • Support the team in developing the optimal maintenance cost model for the re-developments and the future role out of a real estate management software.
  • People management experience

 
Skills & Behavioural Attributes:
 

  • Recognised Accounting Qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 2-4 years PQE in large corporate environment 
  • Possess strong analytical and structured thinking, demonstrate good commercial thinking and business acumen.
  • Having the ease to work effectively under pressure and to meet established goals and objectives within the specified deadline, while maintaining quality at all times.
  • Systems experience with mainstream ERP systems e.g. SAP; Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Commercial and contract management experience advantageous (but not essential)
  • A self-starter with a ‘can do’ attitude is essential
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills, and ability to engage and develop relationships with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
