Finance Manager – FTC

Job Overview.

Experienced Accountant/ Finance Manager required to support a fast-growing retail business through a period of expansion. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality management accounts, financial analysis, and commercial insight, while ensuring strong financial controls and supporting operational decision-making.

This position is for a period of 12 months with a strong possibility of being made permanent.

Reporting to the Retail Financial Controller, you will be a key member of the ROI Divisional Finance team responsible for 4 direct reports. The successful candidate will be a confident person who can comfortably fit into a fast paced culture and adopt a hands-on approach to their role.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & Control

• Manage the completion of monthly close processes across finance systems, including SAP S/4HANA.
• Review general ledger postings and communicate required adjustments to finance processing teams.
• Review and oversee balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Ensure completeness, accuracy, and integrity of financial records.

Analysis & Business Partnering

• Prepare detailed analysis of financial results, including variance analysis and provisioning.
• Deliver insightful cost, margin and performance analysis to support operational decision-making.
• Produce monthly management reports for senior stakeholders and operations teams.
• Provide financial support to Finance Business Partners and operational management.

Stakeholder & Outsourced Team Management

• Work closely with outsourced finance teams to ensure accurate and timely outputs.
• Act as a key finance contact for internal stakeholders and external partners.
• Build strong relationships across finance, operations, and support functions.

Team Leadership

• Lead and develop a small team, ensuring effective support to the business.
• Provide training, guidance, and performance management to direct reports.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
• 3–5 years post-qualification experience with exposure to month end process.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, or a fast-paced commercial environment desired, not essential.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
• Experience working with outsourced finance teams is beneficial.
• Exposure to SAP S/4HANA or similar ERP systems is desirable.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
• Commercially aware with the ability to provide actionable insights.
• Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
