Our client is a global business seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join their team at their manufacturing site in Athlone. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all financial aspects of the manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance, accounting, and manufacturing. The Finance Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure financial goals are met, costs are controlled, and financial processes are optimised.

Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Develop, implement, and manage the annual budget for the manufacturing site.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.

Cost Management:

  • Analyse manufacturing costs and variances to ensure cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Work closely with the operations team to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement cost control measures.
  • Regularly review and update standard costing models.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly financial statements and variance analyses.
  • Present financial information to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and areas of concern.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.

Cash Flow Management:

  • Monitor and manage cash flow to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with treasury and banking partners to optimize cash management practices.

Forecasting:

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasting models for the manufacturing site.
  • Provide rolling forecasts to support operational planning and decision-making.

Internal Controls:

  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, supply chain, and sales, to align financial strategies with overall business goals.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function and implement best practices.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in accounting standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field;
  • Experience as a Finance Manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
