Experience: 3-5 YearsSector: Financial Accounting

A+F Recruitment are assisting a client to hire a Finance Manager for their business in Co Kildare. This role will provide oversight and direction to all aspects of their financial operations with particular focus on financial management and cost control.

The Role:
Monitoring Cash Flow

  • Review daily cash balance to ensure sufficient funds for operations.
  • Forecast short-term cash flow needs to anticipate any shortfalls.
  • Manage cash disbursements and collections to maintain optimal cash levels.

Managing Accounts Receivable

  • Monitor incoming payments from parents and government agencies.
  • Follow up on overdue accounts to ensure timely collections.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure accurate records.

Overseeing Accounts Payable

  • Review and approve vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance.
  • Schedule and process payments to vendors, ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate payment terms and resolve discrepancies.

Budget Management

  • Ensure adherence to financial plans.
  • Monitor budgeted and actual figures to identify potential issues.
  • Prepare budget reports for review by the Board of Directors.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare financial summaries for oversight of the financial status of the business.
  • Generate reports on key financial metrics such as revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data in reports.

Bank Reconciliation

  • Reconcile bank statements with internal records to ensure consistency.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank and company records.
  • Update financial records to reflect reconciled balances.

Payroll Management

  • Review and oversee payroll ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Handle payroll deductions and taxes to comply with regulations.
  • Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve any issues.

Expense Management

  • Review and approve employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Track and categorize expenses for accurate reporting and analysis.
  • Implement cost-saving measures to improve profitability

The person:

  • 5 years as a Finance Manager ideally in a a multi-site, service business.
  • Professional Accounting qualification
  • Ability to function in a fast paced, and innovative environment.
  • Contribute to the senior management team in a meaningful way.
  • The ability to get ‘things’ done. Outcome-oriented, strategic thinker
