My client is looking to recruit an energetic and enthusiastic Finance Systems Specialist to join their Finance Operations team. This is an exciting and fast-paced environment which will support my clients transition to low carbon energy. In joining this Finance team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team, working to achieve maximum value for the group.

I am looking to engage with candidates with a strong accounting and analytical background who have experience working with SAP ERP systems. This position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team. Key priorities for this team are the delivery of best practice finance processes, digitialisation, delivering business requirements and continued staff development. This position will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to develop/ enhance their skills. To deliver optimum utilisation of Finance Systems and promote process best practice within systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports ongoing enhancements to finance systems
  • Resolves complex queries and issues with Finance Operations / FP&A users and SAP specialists.
  • Works on improvement projects
  • Develops and delivers systems training working with Process Owners and users
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with Finance Process Owners and teams, IT and BU Finance stakeholders
  • Co-ordinates and performs system testing as required
  • Responsible for full functional support for Performance Management reports (assess and scope impact and testing required for changes, system upgrades etc., perform unit, user acceptance and regression testing, resolve user queries and issues)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification plus 2 years PQE or equivalent relevant work experience is essential
  • Mininum 3-5 years’ finance/ systems experience
  • Experience in SAP finance models (S/4 Hana experience an advantage but not essential)
  • Systematic problem solver, ability to implement solutions to solve root cause problems
  • Excellent understanding of end-to-end financial processes and systems
  • Knowledge of IT developments & evolving best practice
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Highly motivated, self starter – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with an enquiring mind
