This role is a core member of the Dublin finance team, working closely with the Accounting Manager, providing essential support for month-end close, year-end accounts, regulatory reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
The role will be a key member of the accounting team and important contact for intercompany communications with other company offices.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with 3-4 years PQE, with experience in an accounting environment, ideally within a financial services organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in timely and accurate preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts
- Balance Sheet oversight and monthly reconciliations
- Management of prepayment, accruals and reclassifications process
- Oversee depreciation process and conduct regular reviews
- Key journal control and postings for month-end
- Assist with the year-end financial statements preparation and act as key contact for all interactions with local external audit team
- Prepare and file all Tax returns for the company including Corporation Tax and VAT and any other ad-hoc returns
- Ensuring all current Accounting Standards and policies are adhered to
- Maintenance of Oracle account hierarchies
- Support on Management Company reporting
- Preparation of all Regulatory returns ensuring accurate, timely and consistent reporting to the Central Bank of Ireland
- Process engineering and ad-hoc financial project involvement in relation to the operation of the Local Finance function, as well as any additional tasks which may become relevant to the role.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 3-4 years’ relevant work experience in an accounting environment
- Experience in timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly and annual financials
- Experience within Asset Management/ Banking/ Financial Services environment an advantage
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office including use of pivots where needed
- Knowledge of Oracle accounting package an advantage
- Detail-oriented candidate with inquisitive approach to activities
- Strong analytical skills and a creative and flexible approach to problem solving
- Numerate and accurate with excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised to deadlines
- Team player, flexible and ambitious
