Financial Accountant – Permanent

A+F Recruitment is partnering with an organisation in the energy sector to recruit a Financial Accountant. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to join a large, well-established finance team with a key role in group-level accounting and reporting.

The successful candidate will report to the Accounting & Reporting Manager and will take ownership of group consolidation and statutory reporting activities. The role involves a mix of hands-on finance work and strategic input.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform period close, consolidation, and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level
Prepare annual statutory financial statements and contribute to the ESB Group’s annual and interim reports
Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors and key internal stakeholders
Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across corporate teams, FP&A, business units, and auditors
Provide technical accounting support across the organisation
Monitor IFRS, technical and commercial developments and advise on their impact
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to projects within the Accounting & Reporting function

Requirements:

Newly qualified or 1+ year PQE with a recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
Strong technical accounting knowledge and analytical skills
Highly motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong IT skills; SAP/S4 Hana experience is an advantage
