Our client are a financial services organisation based in Dublin and due to growth they are looking to onboard a financial accountant to their team. A Guide Re Your Role
– Prepare monthly management accounts with full backup and present to management, including preparation of journals and review and support of balance sheet
– Ad hoc reporting requirements (e.g. quarterly accounts to external body) and assist in preparation of investor newsletter
– Manage the annual audit and ensure the company fulfils its statutory reporting obligations
– Co-ordination of the annual business planning process
– Improve the quality and timeliness of reporting available to the business
– Monitor cash balances, ensure sufficient funds in all for Payroll / Tax payments and make supplier payments
– Account Payable: supplier management, communication with suppliers, processing payments
– Monthly reporting on expenses ensuring appropriately receipted and in line with budget, and that cash expenses paid in a timely manner
– Liaise with the team to ensure that costs, including accruals, are accurately reflected in the accounts
– Prepare and file returns eg VAT, PRSI etc
– Support preparation of annual tax returns in Ireland and some overseas jurisdictions
– Payroll Benefits: assisting employees with mobile phone, Health insurance, dealing with pensions provider, Cyclescheme etc
– Share knowledge and best practice with the team
– Ad hoc projects as required
Your Profile (Ideally)
– Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA etc) ideally with 2+ years post-qualification industry experience
– Experience of budget preparation, variance analysis and forecasting is beneficial.
– Strong controls focus, and a methodical approach to work
– Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills
– Ability to work under pressure and multi-task; must be flexible, able to prioritise, work to deadlines and ensure queries resolved in a timely manner
– Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication and presentational skills; ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people-both internally and externally with an ability to handle queries in a professional and timely manner
– Highly numeric with excellent attention to detail
