About the Role:
 
This role will sit on the centralised finance operations function and offer the successful candidate an opportunity to work as part of a large finance team in the Accounting & Reporting area. The position will suit a newly qualified accountant with a strong background in audit and technical accounting/ reporting.
 
Reporting to the Group Accounting and Reporting Manager, Key Responsibilities will include:
 

• Period close, consolidation and reconciliation activities at Group and Business Unit level.
• Preparation of annual statutory financial statements and Group annual and interim reports.
• Co-ordination of the annual audit process, engagement with external auditors and delivery of outputs to key internal and external stakeholders as required.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and customers including corporate, financial planning & analysis, business units and external auditors.
• Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the Accounting & Reporting function.
• Providing technical accounting support to Corporate and Business Units.
• Monitoring accounting (IFRS), technical and commercial developments and advising on their impact on the financial close of the Group.
• Partnering with the Business on accounting related matters.

 
Experience and Qualifications:
 

• Newly qualified/1+ year PQE with recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA)
• High level of technical accounting competency and strong analytical skills.
• Strong IT skills – knowledge of SAP would be preferable
• Highly motivated – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
