The role of Head of Finance for this national charity seems both impactful and demanding, combining financial leadership with operational finance and a broader contribution to governance.

The ideal candidate will not only have a strong technical background in finance but also the ability to work within the unique context of a charity, ensuring compliance with the Charities SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice) and other regulatory frameworks.

Key responsibilities include overseeing the charity’s financial operations, driving continuous improvements, and providing sound financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making. The candidate will also need to demonstrate strong leadership, particularly in managing a finance and operations team, and will collaborate closely with the CEO and the Board on governance matters.

The person specification outlines a blend of strategic, operational, and leadership capabilities, with a strong emphasis on qualifications (e.g., ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA), previous charity experience, and a proven track record in financial compliance and governance. This role offers the opportunity to apply both strategic and operational expertise while contributing to the charity’s mission.

This role can be filled on a 4 or 5 days basis and the business also offers an option of hybrid working. Their offices are based in Dublin 2.
