This Financial Accountant position will involve working as part of the team which is responsible for the maintenance of the General Ledger, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Reporting of all companies within the Group, as well as various projects and ad-hoc tasks that may arise.
 
Your role
 

• Gathering, validating and compiling quantitative and qualitative financial information from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Administration of the General Ledger, e.g. maintenance of account hierarchies, cost centre administration, reconciliation processes.
• Interpreting financial information to determine causality, significance, business impact or implications and developing advice or recommendations for approval by Finance and Company management.
• Preparation of the overall Monthly, Quarterly and Annual Financial Reporting of all companies within the Group.
• Assist in the preparation of Quarterly and Annual Regulatory Reporting for regulated entities
• Assist in the design and operation of a robust financial close process ensuring effective and efficient financial control.
• Identifying and suggesting improvements to financial controls and processes with an aim to increase efficiency or effectiveness.
• Bringing a finance perspective to Company projects, initiatives and ad hoc tasks as they arise.
• Support the taxation compliance of the Company.
• Operational point of contact for key finance external service providers and the Company auditor.

Your skills, knowledge and experience
 

• Professional accountancy qualification with at least 3 years of experience in the finance function of a financial services entity.
• Strong understanding of insurance business general ledger flows and control environments (underwriter, brokerage and service providers).
• Strong base knowledge of Irish GAAP and IFRS rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of Solvency II reporting requirements preferrable.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
