Financial Accountant & Tax – City Centre – Hybrid

My client is actively seeking a qualified accountant with a special interest in Irish taxation, to assume the role of Financial Accountant. This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals eager to handle full accounting responsibilities within a multinational plant genetics company. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams across the EMEA and LATAM regions. Key responsibilities include managing month-end processes, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards, and facilitating seamless communication with internal and external stakeholders.

A key component to this role will be assisting the Group FC with tax related issues such as VAT submissions, Intrastat, Intra-community transactions, Corporation Income Tax provisioning, assisting with R&D filings and withholding tax reporting.

This poisition may suit a qualified Tax professional who is looking for a change of direction where Tax is not 100% of your role. Or someone who has a specific interest in Tax whilst also wanting a role with a month end, process improvement focus.

Key Responsibilities:

Month-end Accounting:

• Manage the month-end accounting process in accordance with IFRS standards.
• Proactively review balances before closing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare various journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and amortizations.
• Conduct trial balance (TB) and cost center variance analysis.

Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Management:

• Handle AP management, including the preparation and posting of vendor invoices.
• Execute payment runs and reconcile vendor accounts.
• Manage AR, calculating and posting sales and royalty invoices to external customers and entities within the group.

Intercompany Management:

• Perform netting of balances and process intercompany payments and reconciliations at month-end.

Balance Sheet Reconciliations:

• Reconcile key accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis to ensure accuracy and integrity.

Statutory Audit Support:

• Support the statutory audit process by providing relevant information and documentation to external auditors.

Budgeting and Planning:

• Assist in coordinating and elaborating the annual budget process, including OPEX, CAPEX, and Cash Flow.
• Monitor and control budgets on a monthly basis.

Process Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the organization.
• Evaluate existing processes, identify bottlenecks, and suggest modifications to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, or improve the quality of outputs.

Reporting and Communication:

• Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate financial and operational performance to management and other stakeholders.
• Provide analysis, recommendations, and actionable insights to facilitate decision-making at various levels of the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified accountant with proven technical ability (ACA, ACCA, CPA).
• Big 4/ Top 10 Practice training will be considered a plus
• International accounting experience.
• Knowledge and experience with SAP S4HANA (desirable, not essential)
• Proficient in Excel and other relevant software.
• Solution driven, shows initiative, assertive
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to interact across all levels of business
• Working / advanced knowledge of Spanish would be advantageous.
