Finance Assistant – Energy

I have partnered with a growing renewable energy organisaiton who are at an exciting stage of their growth and development. 
Due to increased workload as projects move into the delivery phase, the team is looking to hire a Finance Assistant.

Role Objective

The Finance Assistant will manage the vendor and AP process and engage with the outsourced Financial Operations (FO) Function  and managers in the business to ensure the process is managed efficiently. The Finance Assistant will provide support to the Finance Manager in the preparation and reporting of the monthly management accounts and the statutory financial statements as well as providing support on all matters pertaining to governance particularly supporting the progression of various internal audits and the annual statutory Audit. The role will also require general support to the Executive Management team on more general business support matters.

Responsibilities

• Vendor and accounts payable management
• Accounts receivable management
• Preparation of month end journals, accruals & prepayments
• Assisting the Finance Manager in the preparing, reviewing and reporting on monthly management accounts
• Review of VAT and other expenditure tax returns
• Assisting in the preparation of the annual statutory financial statements
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly Board reports
• Point of contact for Internal audits
• General business support to the Executive Management team

Requirements:

• Accounting Technician qualification or partly through recognised Accounting Qualification
• 3-5 years general accounting / finance experience to including AP/AR
• Experience with month end and financial statement preparation 
• Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Office software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
